Hairmaker ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Hairmaker mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the App.

Interpretation

Words with initial capital letters have meanings defined under the following conditions. These definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or plural form.

Definitions

• Account — a unique account created for you to access our App and its features.
• App — the Hairmaker mobile application.
• Credits — the virtual currency used within the App to generate AI hairstyle previews.
• Device — any device that can access the App such as a mobile phone or tablet.
• Personal Data — any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
• Service Provider — any person or company who processes data on behalf of the App.
• Usage Data — data collected automatically from your use of the App.

Personal Data

While using our App, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to:

• Account information: Email address, display name, and avatar when you create an account or sign in via Apple or Google.
• Photos: Selfies and photos you upload for AI hairstyle generation. These are stored securely in private, user-scoped storage buckets.
• Generated images: AI-generated hairstyle previews stored in your private gallery.

Usage Data

• Credits balance, generation history, and favorite styles.
• Device identifiers (vendor ID on iOS) used for free credit eligibility and fraud prevention.
• Subscription status and credit transactions managed through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat.

We use your data for the following purposes:

• To generate AI hairstyle previews from your uploaded photos.
• To maintain your account, credits balance, and generation history.
• To process subscriptions and in-app purchases.
• To prevent fraud and abuse, including rate limiting and device fingerprinting.
• To improve the quality and accuracy of AI-generated results.
• To communicate with you regarding support requests or important service updates.

We employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our App. These third parties have access to your data only to perform tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to use it for other purposes.

• Supabase: Authentication, database, and file storage. Data is hosted on EU servers.
• Replicate: AI model inference for hairstyle generation. Photos are processed transiently and are not retained after generation.
• RevenueCat: Subscription and purchase management.
• Apple: App Store purchases, Sign in with Apple authentication.

We retain your Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Your photos and generated images are stored as long as your account is active.

Your information may be transferred to and maintained on servers located outside of your jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ. Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We take the security of your data seriously. All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption. Photos are stored in private, user-scoped storage buckets with row-level security policies.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

• Access: View all your data within the App, including your profile, gallery, and generation history.
• Export: Export your data from the profile settings at any time.
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from the profile settings.
• Correction: Update your profile information at any time through the App.

Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us so we can take the necessary actions.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
